James B. Feldman

Attorney At Law, P.S.C.

James B. Feldman is an experienced trial and criminal defense attorney in Tacoma, Pierce, Kitsap, Thurston and King Counties, and other areas of Western Washington. He is a graduate of The College of the University of Chicago in Humanities and the University of Puget Sound School of Law, now the Seattle University School of Law.

In his early career he was employed at the Pierce County Department of Assigned Counsel for almost 15 years where he served as Lead Attorney to the District Court Division. He has defended all kinds of cases, misdemeanors and felonies, civil infractions and drug forfeitures, from dangerous dogs and driving with a suspended license to aggravated murder.

He is a member in good standing of the Washington State Bar Association and the Federal Bar of the Western District of Washington. He has practiced in Puyallup Tribal Court, too. In 2013 he prevailed in a forfeiture case before the Indian Tribal Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

He has been selected and is qualified to receive court appointments from the Federal Court under the Criminal Justice Act. He has served as a Pro Tempore Judge in Pierce County District Court since 2005 hearing traffic infractions, anti-harassment petitions, civil cases and criminal cases. This means that he has been selected and approved to serve as a substitute judge.

From his years of working as a criminal defense attorney, he knows that the Justice System can be dehumanizing and arbitrary and can fail to give an individual person the individual attention that she/he deserves. His mission is to ensure that your voice is heard and that your access to justice is assured.

In his spare time James enjoys gardening, cycling, and competitive protection dog training.
